with a new name,
she slowly adjusts
with a smile.
She rises at dawn
for son and husband,
rests late at night,
a forgotten star.
Sweats tirelessly
over the hot tava,
a sighing chapati
with dark circles.
A backstage artist
of clockwork existence,
the crucial cog
in thankless relations.
